6th Annual
Out for Undergraduate
Business Conference
October 2-3, 2009 :: New York City
Have you ever wondered if financial services and consulting companies are good places for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people to work?
What about how comfortable you'd feel being open about your sexual orientation and/or gender identity in a corporate environment?
Have you worried being GLBT could hurt your candidacy or career advancement?
The vision of the sixth annual Out for Undergraduate Business Conference is to educate, inspire and place lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender undergraduate students in financial services
and consulting positions. The conference helps exceptional LGBT undergraduates develop strategies for managing and leveraging their identity in the workplace. The students have an opportunity to meet junior and senior professionals from across the sponsoring firms and listen and learn from individual professionals’ personal experiences. Additionally, through panels, workshops and a case competition, students receive an ‘inside’ view on the financial services and consulting industries.
The conference will also serve as a high-impact recruiting pipeline into financial services and consulting. The program will help participants:
- Build fundamental business knowledge crucial to the interview process
- Polish resume and interview skills
- Network with LGBT professionals and students from other schools
The Conference will be held on October 2-3 in New York City. Scholarships to cover travel expenses and lodging are available for strong applicants. There will be opportunities to socialize with students from other schools and professionals from sponsoring companies at receptions, evening events and a career fair. The $40 conference registration fee includes all conference meals, event memorabilia, and all panels / modules.
